Curling Branches, Portrait Photographer Southern Pines NC

Old curling oak branches and a sunset? Well that is any photographers dream.

Add in a beautiful young lady in a soft gown and you got one epic timeless portrait session. I wish we had more of these trees around Southern Pines-they are so beautiful, majestic, and filter the light so beautifully.

Another trip to SC may be in order soon!

Cozy and Warm Intimates, Boudoir Photographer Southern Pines NC

When this gorgeous little lady mentioned her home was a converted stable I knew we’d have to incorporate it in her intimates sesh! The old brick and other features were just so cozy!

Together we selected outfits to perfectly compliment and capture the warmth and comfort of this little home.  I was so tickled when at sunset Miss S agreed to do a last minute romp to the nearby woods -I just had to get a few shots of her in the sun! We got there just in time to capture the warm rays setting into the trees -perfection.

PS: Doesn’t she look JUST like a certain English princess?!!

Winter Snow Boudoir -Tamtopia Photography Southern Pines NC

Snowy Intimates- Southern Pines NC Boudoir Photographer

With Winter Storm Leon came a shocking 3 inches of snow -highly unusual in my town of Southern Pines, NC.

As others huddled home by the fire, I jumped at the rare opportunity and immediately scheduled an outdoor intimates session in the woods.

I love fashion, so I put a lot of thought into the clothing for each of my clients -customizing it for their personality, style and location.  After confirming the weather, this gorgeous lady and I put together this gorgeous European chic, wintery ensemble.

While not typical for boudoir, the full length cape and fur accents we chose for this session were evidence that less can often be more (exactly how I style my intimates sessions)!

Long after this snow melts away, I’m thrilled to know my client and her spouse will still have these lovely images to enjoy.

Rustic Farmhouse Intimates Southern Pines NC Photographer

This beautiful outdoor intimates session was shot on beautifully warm and sunny January day at the rustic Rubicon Farm near Pinehurst, NC. The airy sunlight and the rustic charm of this 1820’s Scottish farmhouse were a unique and beautiful backdrop for these romantic portraits.
Natural beauty like this was meant for the outdoors.

New Year 2014

Happy New Year!!

2013 has been an amazing, crazy year and I want to thank you all for joining me on this ride.

I want to thank every one of you who has supported us and helped us grow. Your “likes” on Facebook, referrals, comments and emails always always put a smile on my face. Thank you!!

Up until recently I thought I would be leaving North Carolina. Spring is my favorite season here and I was upset about missing all the beautiful flowers and warm weather.Lucky for me, the Army has decided that I am staying put in Southern Pines for a while longer!!! I am so thrilled to be staying here in this amazing community, and to be able to continue working with the awesome clients I’ve made in the last two years.

This year is a great opportunity I didn’t expect, and I intend to use it!
North Carolina is gorgeous, with mountains, beaches, and so many other beautiful natural features. Traveling is one of my favorite activities, so this year I am making it a priority. Whether its for a wedding or a portrait sesh, my bags are packed! If you are reading this and wondering about a session, please write!

As we get ready for a new exciting year ahead, I wanted to share a couple of my favorite images from the past year.

Take care, and I hope you and yours have an amazing celebration!! See you next year.
Tamara

Rustic Farm Wedding -Southern Pines Pinehurst NC Wedding Photographer

This beautiful farm stylized wedding took place at a charming 1820’s Scottish farmhouse on the outskirts of Pinehurst, NC. It rained and it poured, but finally the sun came out and we were able to capture some gorgeous images at Rubicon Farm.

The rustic style was evident in the burlap runners and flower accents -as well as the brides beautiful burlap belt with paper flowers. Whitewashed church pews and a hand made wood altar made for a stunning ceremony site, with true Southern Mason jars with baby breath lining the aisle.  With more pews for table seating, the reception tables were decorated with unique wood centerpieces and gorgeous flower arrangements in shades of whites and pinks. It turned out to be a beautiful day, with an equally gorgeous bride and groom! I cannot wait to photograph another wedding at this truly timeless spot in the Carolina Sandhills.

Horse Farm Engagement -Southern Pines Wedding Photographer

Horse farm? Sunset? Two super cute people in love? Yep, this session had it all!!

When planning this engagement session C and B mentioned they had a horse farm they wanted to use for the shoot, you cannot believe the smile that put on my face.  Living in the heart of North Carolina horse country I’ve been really eager to do a session on a horse farm for a while. The fences, the open spaces, the barns -and oh yea, horsies!

I had a really hard time narrowing down the images for this blog.. these two are just too dang cute. Here’s to many happy years ahead for you both!!

Intimate Southern Pines Wedding -Southern Pines, Pinehurst NC Wedding Photographer

When Heather and Jim first contacted me about photographing their small wedding they only had a date in mind. No venue confirmed, nothing booked  -but they  knew one thing for sure, they wanted photos done at the downtown Southern Pines train station.  Turns out these lovebirds regularly took out lunch from Southern Whey, and ate it on a bench outside at the Amtrack station.  Considering how much I love those sandwiches, and eating al fresco, I knew we would get along nicely.

Enjoy!

Wine tasting! Southern Pines NC Photographer

The Wine Cellar & Tasting Room in Southern Pines is a favorite place of mine, with lots of delicious wines from every region and of course, a wine bar!

I stepped in again last week for a tasting of South American wines and left happily tipsy (and with a lighter wallet.)   We had a fabulous time talking wine with other locals and with the wine expert that did the presentation. We were seated with some people we didn’t know, but by nights end we found out that 4 of the 5 of us lived in Germany in the past, and 2 of us went to GWU. Small world indeed.

I just returned to pick up my order and snapped a few quick photos of this fabulous wine bar. I love supporting local shops, and this one is cozy, well stocked and the prices are reasonable to boot.

Be sure to stop in and have a glass of something delicious. I highly recommend the Durigutti Bonarda from Argentina!! Amazing complex berry nose, gorgeous burgandy color. Dry and DELISH!
